The system is made from 2 barrel nuts. A 1/4" slice from one nut is the jamb nut, and the other nut is shortened slightly less, and a short section of the o.d. is turned down to the bottom of the grooves on the main nut to re-align the wrench to the slots.

If You want to go with adhesive, Red Loctite will work and can be softened and released with 500 degrees of heat.

How about using a set screw in the nut? Would have to be careful not to screw up the barrel threads. Dedicate a barrel nut and recoil lug to each barrel and action, then use mastic or set screw.

I suppose you could shove the barrel under a car trunk lid and have somebody sit on the lid.

If you hit it with a 5 lb sledge it will break free. I mean it wont be torqued but 5 lbs if you tighten it in your lap. Also, you can get some 500 degree temp sticks at t he weld shop so you know when the red breaks loose. For some reason Monkeys and footballs come to mind. maybe a vice mounted in the receiver hitch to hold an action wrench. Seriously, you will tire of the hassle. Buy more 250 dollar actions and QD rings.

I like just having another gun or 2 along even better.
    But to each his own.
