Wood stock for a Axis II 300 BO

I'm looking for a wood stock for my new Axis II 300 Blackout. I went over to Boyd's and just got confused, Has anyone here replaced their factory stock for wood.
    Thanks much

I was thinking about the same thing. Mines .308. Made in 2012.

Well, I figured everything out and ordered a Varmint thumb-hole stock with a metal trigger guard from Boyds. I have three Savages with that kind of stock and am happy with them.
I'll post a picture after I get the stock.

Boyds got me all 'fused too....which one did you pick up? This is my first Savage bolt action and I love .300 AAC. Great to reload and shoot.

I went with the Varmint Thumbhole for the Axis short action bull barrel and I got it in less than two weeks. Fit perfect. Here's a picture of it after I was shooting. I did add the metal mag. tab and trigger guard plus the limb saver butt pad.

Did you need to buy a mag well? I recently learned that a synthetic-to-wood stock conversion requires one (at least for some models)?
