    What trigger guard?--pictures added

I have a VLP short action centerfeed, I bought a B&C Medalist stock but the trigger guard isn't right. What model trigger guard do I need?

    Thanks,
    Ron

You have to drill a hole for the 3rd screw. Don't over torque it, material is suprisingly soft.

The rear screw is fine, the middle screw is about 1/4" from hitting the pillar when level with the stock. If I run it as is the mating surface between the screw and trigger guard are not square to each other. thats were the 1/4" comes in, if I make it square there is a big gap.

    Thanks,

Looks like it was inletted too deep. Bout the only thing you can do is stack some washers under the guard(between guard and pillar) till you get the correct height. You may need a longer screw though. Once you figure out how many you need, take them out and epoxy them together to make one spacer(that way they dont fall all over whenever you pull the stock).

It actually looks like it is inletted for a Stevens trigger guard, as they have a spacer built into the guard for some reason.

Or use bedding compound under the trigger guard.

How thick is the spacer on the Stevens? 1/4"? I think I just may have to get a pillar and bed that in place.

ETA-- 3 stainless washers brings it up to level so I may just run with it.

    Thanks,
    Ron
