More like 7000, they were very common.
Does anyone know how many were made of the following gun:
Savage Model 12
Single Shot
Stainless Steel
220 Swift
Composite stock
Fluted 26" Barrel
We were told that there were seven of them made. Thanks.
Jim.

I got into a buy on the last 220 Swift Single Shot Rifles built. Savage only had enough parts to build 40 rifles. They were all built with the old Stagger Feed Action Screw spacing. Due to availability of the normal VLP Stagger Feed Stocks being all but non existant, Savage built this last 40 of these with a Laminate Wood Thumbhole Stock. I currently have one left from my original 27 rifles.
If you are looking at one that is a Stainless Action in a 220 Swift with a Synthetic Stock someone may have swapped it out. The other point as Fred already mentioned it may have been made that way and it may have been from an earlier production run.

Actually the person that told you there was only 7 was partiallly right. You own one of the 7 220 swifts single shot rifles produced that Hammer doesn't own. (Yet) :)
CJ has one, so that leaves only 5 unaccounted for

We were too quick to answer the question without some clarification.
To which version of the stainless-steel single-shot 220 Swift action was the OP referring ?

My model 12 in 220 swift is a blue flat top action with stainless fluted barrel with Synthetic Stock.
.
Blue flattop with stainless barrel in synthetic stock ?
Yep, they made that version too.
Also, blue flattop single-shot with blue barrel in solid walnut stock.

That one on the left is just Wrong! Of course, so is my 200 now.
