    Axis bolt face swap?

Is this doable? Thinking about a .17 Squirrel build off an Axis action. It requires a .22 Hornet bolt face, which PTG makes for the 10/11/12. Are the Axis and 10/11/12 bolt faces the same and therefore interchangeable?

Secondly, if someone has built a 17 Squirrel in a Savage Centerfire, I’d love to hear about it. Just seems like a cheap, fun round to shoot.

Its also worth noting that I don’t want to build off a 25 action. Thank you!

Bolt head is the same as any short action savage so it should be an easy swap. Not sure on magazines and the rest of the setup but boldface won't slow ya down

Is this a single shot or are you going to fit it with a Hornet mag?
