Hi. I am Gavin Perry. I live in a small rural town located in the north eastern corner of Utah. We are at about 5,600 ft elevation at the base of the Uintah mountains.
I am retired from the US Navy and spent my career after doing IT and industrial automation. I was lucky enough to shoot on a navy rifle team for a year and learn a bit from the pros. I have been a hobby gunsmith, reloader and shooter for about 25 years.
Quick add on-Started with a Savage 99 of my gradfathers in 250-3000. I started looking for more of them in the 90's. ended up with all but the 358 and 22. I think the are elegat and highly functional work guns for the time. They come out of a leather scabbard easy.
I have a few Savage rimfires and two bolt guns that have shot well for being stock. Now that I have the time, I want to add a good 6.5 barrel to the SA, upgrade the lock ring, nut and see if the action can be smothed out a bit.
