Are both holes in different locations on the stock or just one, relative to the trigger?

Relative to the trigger. Long action IIRC is 5.062". Short actions, depending on age are 4.27" or 4.40" but still relative to the trigger.

I did a poor job of asking my question.

If I were to attempt to use a 4.27 stock on a 4.4 rifle, would I have to relocate two action screw holes, or just one?
