    model 99 extraction probs

Hi ya'll I am fairly new here to this forum and I have a question for you 99 gurus.. My buddy has a model 99 that about every third round sticks in the chamber.. I checked the brass and it could be that there is a burr in the chamber and that can be removed, however the extractor seems a little bit weaK.. I have not taken apart the bolt but is there a spring with the extractor that I am not seeing or is the extractor just a spring steel piece pinned in place? And if He has to replace the extractor where is a good place to get one?

    Thank Ya'll

The extractor is just a metal piece held in with a steel pin on the underside of the bolt.

I just had a look at some exploded views. Apparently there are two different types, one of them the pin that holds the extractor is under the bolt and the other is on top of the bolt, I guess it all depends on when your gun was made but both have no spring.
