Hi Folks,
In 1997 I bought my Savage 112FVSS rifle. At that time I had an old Mini-14 (RIP) which was an great gun, but not accurate at all. So I wanted something in that caliber (223) that was accurate and I bought my Savage. Pretty soon I replaced the factory stock with a Choate Varmint stock and from that point on it was a smooth sailing. A few years ago I finally found a reload that works great in my Savage and now I enjoy every trip to the range. The maximum distance at my club is 200 yards, so it is really started to get boring to shoot my Savage, not much challenge when all your groups about 2" at 200 yards. I can only shoot it from the rest, bags or bipod and I'm too old to shoot it prone. It is too heavy for any other positions. 24" heavy barrel!

So I started thinking about the Savage Scout in 223, to become a bolt action companion to my short barreled AR. I'm really fond of Savage design and Savage scout has all the features I want. I'm short, so the Savage stock on the Scout look real attractive. I read about mismatched sights in 308 version
but I'm willing to take a chance. I have a small lathe and a small mill, but I hope it will not come to me needing to use it on my Scout.
I don't have it yet. I'm waiting for it to become available on Midway. Since I live in NJ it will have to be sent to an FFL dealer first.
