    Greetings from elk country

    Hi Folks,

I grew up hunting, in Zimbabwe; didn't hunt for many years, until I moved to Colorado and noticed all these dozy brown beasts wandering around. Turns out it's harder to shoot them than you might think. I'm really grateful for the massive amount of knowledge here on the site. Got my Storm 110 .308 just in time for elk season here on the Western Slope (although it does seem to throw my regular hunting ammo into the opposite corner of the target to the match ammo, still trying to figure that one out). This site gives me the confidence that this thing will be a tack driver in due course.

    Cheers,
    Jon

Welcome to the forums! If you don't hand load you'll have to try different brands of ammunition to see what your rifle prefers.

Well shooterJ. Are you shooting box ammo or are you rolling your own? When you say "although it does seem to throw my regular hunting ammo into the opposite corner of the target to the match ammo" do you mean an inch or 12 inches? We might be able to get this elk rifle in shape. For a chunk of Elk meat of coarse!
