Sure do like these Savage Rifles

I always used Winchester and or Remington in the past, always heard about Savage but seemed like people kind of dismissed them as legit rifles.

That was until 2 years ago, I have a 6.5cm 10ba Stealth, Model 12 FV 223, Model 110V 223 and they all shoot under .5 moa at hundred, love em...

Then the other day I came across what I thought was a good enough deal I couldnt pass it up, Savage 12 BTCSS 204 Ruger, RCBS dies, 300-400 brass,
300-400 bullets, about 100 rounds of various factory loads, and Barska 6x24 scope ( that is not a high end scope, but after shooting it a little at the indoor
range, I was pleasantly surprised ) all for 799.

I thew 3 loads together usind 32gr Vmax, CFE223, 8208xbr and BLC-2, had no idea as far as seating depth or whatever just took a guess and tried them.

Dang! I was very happy with the results, the 8208xbr was be best group, 5 shots right at .5, the CFE was close behind, I pulled one for a .88 overall but
    4 were in at .496.

I just shake my head and smile....

Savage got my attention also. I bought a used Savage 6br benchrest years ago, and when looking down the barrel, thought it was probably shot out. Wrong. It shot great. Foolishly traded it away for another rifle "I had to have". Then the wild hair got me a couple weeks ago. I wanted another Savage Benchrest and got one in 308. This thing shoots FGMM 168's so good, I know when I start working up a handload, it will only get better.

    IMO, Savage are great rifles!

I showed up at a Match with my FCP 308 Savage factory rifle. Everyone laughed at me. I was also shooting Factory Ammo! Double Laugh!

Shortly, after winning "overall", the entire match, within the year, over 1/2 of the line was sporting Savage Actions! True!

I have several Savage competition Rifles that consistently shoot 1 MOA @ 600 yards!

Anything from 223's, to 338's! 308 was my favorite caliber as I shot the F/TR class most of the time.

I have custom built rifles also, Kelby's and Bat Actions are on these builds. My Savages hang right in there with these "expensive" rifles!
