Or maybe even converting it to blind magazine. Basically anything that could give me stock options.
Hey guys!
Long time lurker and not new to rifles....however inexperienced with Savage actions.
I have acquired a Savage 111 in 7 remmag and I have a few questions in regards to aftermarket stocks.
The rifle is a Detachable mag that is stagger-feed and it seems as if my stock options might as well be zero.
I was wondering if it would be possible to convert from the stagger-feed detachable magazine to a hinged floorplate?
My first assumption is that since it is a stagger-feed, I cannot...but I hope that I am wrong.
I apologize for my ignorance and I have searched but havent found the answer(s) and so if this has been done, please feel free to post the link for I do not mind reading.
A little information that may assist in this answer is:
I used to build long range rifles on (the other brands actions) and chamber/headspace the barrels to the actions after I blueprinted them. So, again, I am not new to rifles but just new to Savages.
Any help is greatly appreciated and I hope to get this rifle up and going with a decent stock so that I can start doing load dev.
Or maybe even converting it to blind magazine. Basically anything that could give me stock options.
Go to the classifieds of al the rifle forums you can find and put an ad out for a long action stagger feed magazine.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
FWIW: Boyd's has stocks for your Savage 110 Long Action, DBM.
