Here is my Savage 1907 Military Trial .45 which is #78 1/200 shipped to the US Government for use in the military trials competing against Colt for the first semi-automatic handgun contract for the military, they were sold to the government at the price of $65 per unit compared to the Colt test pistols which were sold for $25. This pistol was Shipped to Troop I 3rd Calvary Fort Wingate New Mexico.

The pistol was refinished along with the other Savages purchased back from the US government at the price of $16 each the pistols were refinished in the 1919 era rough matte finish. The majority of the pistols were later sent to Tryon in Philadelphia for public sales.

This piece was professionally restored by the late Steve Moeller just before his passing in 2015. Steven took this pistol and restored it back to it's original factory finish type as it would have worn when it was shipped to the US government for the Trials.
