    New from the Midwest

New to the forum, and Savage rifles (not new to firearms in general though; have several other rifles/pistols/AR's to use). Recently picked up a 12FV, Vortex Strike Eagle (5-25x56) and began going to a decent range with a 600 yard maximum distance. It's zeroed in and accurate, so we'll go from there.

Colorado? We lived in Northeast Colorado for about a year and a half not long after we were married.

Yeah I'm in Aurora. Been here for 21 years. I am originally from Albuquerque.

Welcome. The 12 FV is a great rifle to enter the brotherhood.

Thanks. It's a nice rifle, but after 160 rounds down the tube, I still don't like the factory stock. It's shooting 1 moa groups at 100 yds, but the comfort just isn't there yet. Have to rectify that soon.

I did a couple cheap modifications to mine; stiffen the stock (JB Weld and a couple thin steel rods), and make a cheek riser. It worked fine, but then I found an aftermarket stock on sale.
