    Harris Bipod

Just picked up a Savage 110 Apex Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. Looking at putting a Harris bipod on it. Any recommendations, or thoughts on which one to get??
    Thanks,
    Tim

I found a harris clone that is everything the Harris is, the only caveats was I had to buy some grade 8 bolts, tap a couple threads, a drop of loctite (maybe $15 worth of parts) and this think is as solid as any ive used at a fraction of the cost

My big thing was conveying banner scopes over to elites . That made a big difference for me. But at least the banners got me in the door at the time . But I did learn you get what you pay
    For with glass

Banners are not bad if all you need is a hunting scope and your rifle doesn't have to much recoil lol

No they are not but when you look at better glass there is a difference . I still got a displaced banner , as I got a 783 and tc compass wearing trophy’s scopes now

Mine came with the Vortex Crossfire 3-9x-40. So somewhat decent I believe.

I would recommend looking at the features. I also have a Harris and a clone and can't really tell the difference in use.

I like the notched legs and swivel top (for tilting). I have not ever needed the rotating top.

Height. Both of mine are 9-13. 9" is almost too high for bench so I'd probably be better off with 6-9. But, 9 is too short for prone so if that is on your agenda then get the 9-13.

This UTG pro bipod is a great product. Short and long shown,

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Accu-Tac are really good, but plan on $$$$. I don't like Harris because of the external springs that pinch your fingers. There are a ton of reviews on Youtube which should really confuse you.

I have some Harris pods, but also several Blackhawks.
I really like the pivot/traverse features- much faster getting on target and less effing around. Just get the legs "close" on uneven surfaces and you can swivel/level the rifle as needed without fiddling with the legs to get it correct. I can pivot from one steel plate to another at range without touching the bipod.

9"-13" is way too tall for bench shooting- may be OK for prone depending on the individual (or tall grass) but 6"-9" works for me in both applications.
