savage 12fv 6.5 creedmoor bolt stuck

today I went to range and shot about 6 rounds. after last shot, I got the smoke from bolt and it's stuck. it's hard to lift the bolt. It cannot be pulled out. Can anyone know how to get bolt out?

You can try a rubber mallet to tap the bolt handle back. And if you are *sure* the last round actually fired you can put a cleaning rod down the barrel and try to tap out the shell/bolt as well.

Thank you, Celltech. Rubber Mallet worked. the primer is off from the brass. I guess the brass has been loaded too many times.

When my friends 110 in 6.5 popped the primer it also dislodged the extractor on his bolt. Give yours a good look over.

Cool...make sure you didn't flame cut the bolt face. How easily did that primer seat when you reloaded it? And just out of curiosity, what kind of brass and how many reloads?

I used Hornady brass and about 12 times reloaded. I realized I just annealed the brass more than 6's and shoulder bump back more than 0.002" before it happened. I remember it's easier to seat bullets after annealing. I won't use those brass again.

I use a primer pocket gauge. This allows me to check the pockets before I reload. I started doing this after having several round blow their primers. Ballistic tools sells a set of large and small gauges for $20 plus freight.

Do yourself a favor and buy some quality brass. Hornady brass has always been known for primer pocket issues. I don't think I've ever gotten over 5 reloading's out of any Hornady brass before a lot of the primer pockets got big.
I would say buy some small primer brass, but unless you have plenty in stock already, you won't find any to buy.

I always use the Lee Auto Prime to get good feel for the tightness of the primer fit in the brass.

Go for Lapua. You can also get it in Berger factory ammo, shoot it for fun, and then the brass is already fire formed.

I use both Peterson and lapua and am very very very satisfied with both. The price over 15-20 loadings with annealing isn't actually that much if any more than going cheap and getting new brass every time you turn around. Not to mention the potential accuracy benefits.

Both have very tight primer pockets. Peterson is made in america. There's other good ones made in the usa as well.
