the 2020 nationals are being held this week...maybe that will be good enough for you.

you could look them up and post them since you have such a interest.

Writing in complete sentences with proper punctuation and correct spelling is always helpful.

Not everyone is as smart as you.

I'm not the one arguing that the info posted from other precision rifle disciplines isn't good enough.

the problem is your version of precision does not answer the ACTUAL QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED.

This would be for a dedicated bench gun for myself, (6mm bore) and not having to follow any limitations or restrictions as to sanctioning bodies for competition. Strictly for static target and long range varmint shooting for my individual enjoyment....but with accuracy as the highest priority. Look forward to the discussion.
Here is the original post fellas.....One statement that stands out is; "but is there
a barrel maker that clearly stands above the rest ??

My answer would be to say "NO" at this point in time. It's a group of barrel makers
that share the top. Pick your poison, and drive it.

I.would have to agree with that. Ive only use shilen and criterion and have not had the money to try any others but I have seen the results of many others and seen equipment lists of top shooters.

On a unrelated note does anyone have quick load and would be willing to run some numbers?

Well, if you write in incomplete sentences without punctuation and correct spelling, then complain that people can't read what you wrote - that could be the problem.

Thats really all I'm wanting is to get close so I don't have to start from the beginning. I already have load dev for 175gr smk but a buddy of mine got rid of his 308 and gave me over 500 same lot speer bthp match pills so I figured I may as well use them.. heck they were free

just a note. the 168 smk is a 300 meter bullet with a known bad issue at long range. you need to look at the boat tail on these bullets and decide if you are going to shoot past 400.
    i shoot 175 and 185 for 308 out to 800.

everyone has an OPINION, but facts are based on data......you got none.
    again the question is
"who makes the very best quality premium barrels currently"

i was just commenting on "not all 168's are great bullets"...see if you can find a spec on the boat tail.
again great at 1-300..then they fall off past 500.
so someone may tall you a bullet is great, BUT AT WHAT DISTANCE?

Mike, So what is a good spec on a .30 cal boattail? I've had some good luck with the 168AMax out to 1000, same with the 155ELDmatch.

both of those are new enough to no be an issue.
the smk 168 was designed for short range and had(has?) the wrong shape for long range stability.
