Had PTG make a22 hornet bolt head. Chambered a barrel in 22 hornet. Shoots great, but can not get the little cartridge to feed. Any ideas?
Tried bending mag lips. Tried inserting 23 savage mag 9 22 hornet) in the model 12 mag, no luck.
THANKS
THANKS Yes the action screws are tight. The small case wants to fall into the area between the action and barrel, where the bolt lugs turn into.
You'll never get it to feed from a magazine, simply because the action is too big for that cartridge.

You will probably have to feed it as a single shot, I have a sled in mind from high score.

Figured I would show the difference on a bore before and after lapping. A friend of mine brought his rifle to me to have me lap the bore , he tested it today, said before he was getting 1moa and now about 1/4moa

Interested in where you got the .22 Hornet bolt head--what does PTG stand for?
Pacific Tool & Gauge. Had a friend open up a .223 bolt head to fit a 22 Hornet.
Never got any further than that. Sold it to someone that had more ambition.
Single feed will cure the feeding problem.
Oz never gave nothing to the Tin Man, that he didn't already have.
Couldn't you manufacture a piece from plastic or aluminum that bridges the gap and integrates to the feed ramp? I dont know, ive never seen a 22 hornet but having alot of "creative metal working experience" it seems there would be some solution??

Thanks, Mikie! I have had a 1930s custom Krag-actioned .22 Hornet for years, and was thinking about retiring it and making up a BASS on a short-action 110E. Single shot bolt actions are fine with me.
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.
