    6.5 Creedmoor

Box store Savage 11 with Nikon 3-9 Scope that came with it.
Did a little test with 140 Grain Ballistic Tips.

Starting book load — .55” for 3 shots at 100 yards.

    Middle load — 1.89” for 3 shots

    Max load — .57” for 4 shots.

    I think this will work.

I worked shift work for 42 years and had lots of free time on night shift to work on making targets. Many different designs but I finally figured out a white or yellow bull was a lot easier to see.

Here is where I get mine

    http://www.targetz.com/

Plenty of types to choose from.

Bullseye I draw myself. Get circle diameters from NRA or other rules.

The nice thing is if you use open sights you can make the circles just the right diameter to 'fit' your front sight.

I just got my first 6.5 Creed (an Axis) too. Used to own a 6.5x55 back in they day and always liked it - the Creedmoor just seems like a more modern incarnation of that. I've been hunting with a 7mm-08 for the last few years but I plan on taking the Creed out at least a few times this year. I've got the scope mounted and everything I'm just waiting on dies and brass to arrive from Midway so I can load up some ammo for testing :).

IMR-4350 is my go to powder for loading my 6.5 Swede cartridge. Seems the 6.5's like that powder burn rate.

I find that the powders in the burn range of traditional .30-06 powders perform slightly better in my 6.5mm Creedmoor rifles than the more traditional .308 powders.

I have gotten the best results with H4350 and IMR4451. That is based upon over 500 5-round groups with bullets from 130 thru 147 grains.
Both powders are temperature insensitive (H4350 is slightly less sensitive than IMR4451).
IMR4350 performs well but it changes 155 fps from 0 to 125 deg F. so to get consistency you have to allow for the change in velocity with temperature.
By comparison, H4350 is in single digits (Hodgdon claims 4 fps) across the same temperature range.

RL-17 worked very well with some 130 gr bullets but shot terrible with the heavier bullets.
I could never figure out why.
