Chasis for old model 110 long action

I have got a client that is wanting to customize an old 110 in 7 Rem mag. He really wants to go with a chasis system and likes the MDT the best. Looking online at multiple chasis they claim they fit 110 long action but there is no mention of staggered or center feed, flat back or round back like most standard stocks specify. My question is, does anyone make a chasis system for this action or will one of the long action options available work fine? Thanks for the help.

All 110 long actions have the same action screw spacing,so it will fit in any chassis for a long action. The problem will be seeing if you can get a staggered feed action to feed rounds out of a center feed style magazine.

[ All MDT Savage Long Action Chassis:
Model (new models) 110, 111, 112, and 116. Additionally, we support stagger feed model 110 in long action rounds, however, a modification will need to be made to the receiver. ]

The above is a quote from the MTD help center.
My thought from discussions on other forums was the bottom of the reciever needs to be opened up a little to be able to receive the AICS style magazine.
Could be wrong but the magazine will not work as is.

Not the end of the world just something to check into.

You are correct Bogboy2. If I am not mistaken the bolt will not strip a round unless you move the rear of the port back a little. Not sure if the cut needs to give room for the rear of the magazine or not.

Robin, thanks for the confirmation, that's the way I remember hearing it too.

edit: There is currently a post "Update: Steven 200 in an Oryx......"
The magazine was modified to reach high enough for the bolt to strip rounds. The results were not so good.
The 200 should have been milled instead IMHO.

Years back the options for long action stocks were slim. You made due. I had a LA boyds that needed to be used for the action that the stock was designed for. CF into a SF. I had to epoxy modelers plywood into the inlet. I believe I moved it to the rear for the Centerfeed but I cant remember.

I put my old staggered feed 110 FLP action in a center feed Boyds stock when I built my 6.5-06. I had to open up the front of the magazine inlet in order for the staggered feed blind magazine to fit in it.
