    Savages with DBM's in 223 & 308 / CM's ?

IF, you have Savages with DBM's in both 223 and 308 size cases, will your 223 DBM fit into the 308 size stock ?
MY reason for asking is I'm thinking about converting a 308 to a 223 and just want to make sure a 223 DBM will fit AND FUNCTION.

    Factory DBM or aftermarket?

I had a 110 tactical that was originally in 308. It came from the factory set up for AICS style mags. I converted it to 223 and got a 223 AICS style mag. It fits and works fine.

If factory style (3-5rd mags), yes - they all use the same bottom metal as long as you stay S/A or L/A. If the AICS style mags see above.

That's what I have in mind, Did the 223 mags allow for a longer OAL loading than the AR standard 2.260", I'm thinking a 1-7 / 1-7.5 T Bbl and set up to shoot heavies loaded to 2.550"

I used a MDT mag in mine. I just checked their site and they say the 223 mag will fit a COL of 2.550
