Sold one & bought a replacement

A fellow shooter on another site was wanting a Revic PMR 428 scope, and bought the one I had. The Revic is a great scope, but after using it for 2 years I wanted something else.
The day after selling it,I found a rarely used S&B PM II 5-25x56 for a steal,so I bought it. I should get it next week. I'm hoping I can make it work on my LH Nucleus action, the placement of the illumination knob can be a problem with the bolt handle clearing it. If it won't clear,I'll just put it on my RH Savage custom and put the Cronus scope from it on the Nucleus.

I'm also waiting on Steiner to return my T5xi scope from getting repaired. It had some side focus issues out of the box,I like this scope so I hope it was just a QC issue.

Thanks RH, I've always wanted a S&B,but was told they don't work well on LH bolt actions because the illumination knob gets in the way. Luckily,it works just fine on the Nucleus action because the bolt throw is 80*. I think I'm going to really like this scope.

My T5xi scope just came back from Steiner,so I mounted it back on my 12 FLVSS 223. Hopefully,I don't have any more focus issues with it,I really like this scope also.

I really liked the Steiner T5Xi 5-25x56 I had on my Nucleus for a few days, but like yours mine had an obvious parallax issue and I returned it to the retailer for a refund. To be fair, it was a discounted open box unit that B&H had listed for $1,600 so I was a little iffy going in, but for almost $1,000 under regular price I took the gamble and it didn't pan out that go-around. Ended up getting an Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56mm and have been very happy with it thus far.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about high end scopes, but my brother won a PRS style match last year and off the prize table picked up a Revic, and it is a dandy scope! It doesn't have the clarity of his Steiner T5xi, but it brings a whole lot of tech to the table! I know S&B has a reputation for having top tier scopes, so i am sure you will be happy with it.... but coming from a guy that has a slew of Burris XTR2's and veracity, a Steiner P4Xi, Athalon Ares BTR and a Zeiss V4... so a bunch of good scopes under $1000, i can only dream of taking your trash.
    Seems like a great upgrade!

Someone was trashing the ARC rings on here the other day. My bet they have never used them. I like mine. What do you think of yours?

Our eye's must be a lot different. The glass in the Revic beats the Steiner glass by a long shot. You'd have to step up to Kahles,S&B,IOR Valdada,March,ZCO,TT scopes to have better glass.

I use this chart to test out scopes,it will thin the herd pretty quick on what is good and bad optically.

Robinhood,I absolutely love my ARC M10 rings,I've got 5 sets of them. That's all I'll use on my 34mm and 40mm tube scopes. I still use the Burris Signature Zee rings on all my 30mm scopes, and a couple 1" scopes on 22's. For me,those two types of rings work great, and have never let me down, nor put a single ring mark on any scope.

My brother has a Kahles, 2 steiner T5XI 5-25's and his Revic. Side by side one of his Steiners is the best of the 4 with resolution, and about the same as the Kahles with the other and the Revic is worse by a good margin. Granted the steiners have more CA, but better resolution.
