Does Savage make a Magnum, Short Action?

Looking at whether to use a Savage SA receiver for a .300 WSM (or an M700) , can't find one for sale?

NSS doesn't have one listed; and the WSM factory rifles don't specify action length on their website.

Does Savage even make a SA, magnum receiver- I don't mean just the boltface, I mean feed ramps for fat/wide magnums- or are all their magnums built on LA's?

Savage has made WSM rifles for a long time. Both in stagger feed and center feed. The older stagger feed actions had a standing ejector and a control round feed. The newer ones had a special bolt package with a longer bolt head and firing pin push fed. All of them were large shank. You could probably get away with a small thread receiver. For a repeater you would just need the correct magazine.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Yes Savage makes S/A Magnum actions. Definitely want to look for an action that is already setup for magnums as due to the thicker bolt head they use a different firing pin. Buying a non-magnum action would get cost prohibitive having to change out both the bolt head and firing pin assembly, not to mention Savage doesn't make it easy to get either as they're considered "gunsmith only" parts.

If your going to build a WSM on a Savage action, this is very important advise.
Definatly use the proper action to start with, otherwise much grief will follow.

Spoke with Jim at NSS on the Savage receivers.
I'm going to use an M700 for this build.
They do make a SA, magnum receiver but they're difficult to obtain- said he hasn't had a request for one in nearly two years and not sure if he could even get one.
