I just joined the savage family with a model 99e I picked up at my lgs. I had no intentions of buying another rifle but saw this and couldn’t put it down. I think she’s a bit of a plain Jane as far as collectibility but seems to be a fine rifle. At $199 I couldn’t pass her up. It came mounted with a Nikon ProStaff 3x9. Over all it shows some wear but not abuse. It’s chambered in 308 and manufactured in Westfield, Mass. Serial code is D1038xx
I found some details for the for post 68 savages and am thinking it must be 1979. Does that sound right? Anyways I’m excited to get out to the range and do some hunting this fall.
Thanks for any input you may have,
David
