Depends on the cal and amount of "taper" in the case.
A lee collet neck die will work on many cases that started life as .30-06 or 308.
The RCBS neck die I had wanted to put a little taper back in the case of a .223AI.
Hi when going from 223 to 223AI or any cal for that matter, I understand that you can get away with buying only one die. what one is that, there are so many differant ones.
Thanks Dean
RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

.223 Rem AI, .22-250 AI, .220 Swift AI .243 Win AI, .6mm Rem AI, .257 Rob AI, .25-06 AI, 6.5x300wsm .30-06 AI, .270 STW, 7mm STW, 28 nosler, .416 Taylor
By my books the 223AI seems to be set up the same as all the other AI acrtridges in respect to the neck/shoulder point. As Blue Avenger stated the Lee Collet die works well with other AI cases, it works great with my 243AI. I don't see any reason why a Lee collet die for 223 wouldn't work for you. For what its worth, instead of just ordering a Collet die I would go ahead and get the Lee Delux die set. It's usually only a couple bucks more for the entire set versus just the Collet Die.
I use the 243 Deluxe die set for my 243AI and the Collet die and the Dead Length Seater work great. The factory crimp die works with it too. 223 set should work with the 223AI.
204, 22 K-Hornet, 222, 223, 22-250, 22-250AI, 6BR, 243, 243AI, 6-06, 6-WSM, 250-3000AI, 270, 7-08, 7RM, 30BR, 308, 30-06, 375 H&H, 444 Marlin, 450BM, 458WM
I see lee has AI's in 223 and 22-250 do they have any other cal, and who else has AI's for less than a kings ransom.
thanks Dean

Other than a 308 (Ackley proved the gain to AI a 308 was not enough to spend the time on) can be had in just about any case.
I run 223 AI, 222 Magnum AI (Super Duece), 22/6mm AI, & 6 mm AI.
The wildness factor would go to the 22/6mm AI. When you can sling a 75 gr AMax at or very close to 4000 fps, believe this is where the fun begins. :)
lee dies
they make 223ai dies.the 223 collet die work great
Redding makes the dies as well...Midwayusa has redding/hornady/rcbs dies in .223 ai as well as other cals. in ai.
