    Savage 110 Classic Caliber

Decided to buy one of the Savage 110 Classics. Not for shooting as much as eventually leaving to my grandson who is now 5.

    Going with 243.

30-06 has "classic" written all over it.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.

I suppose since the choices are limited, i would go 7mm-08 or .270. my favorite 2 cartridges are not offered in the classic. i suppose 30-06 would be next on my list...

Certainly a good choice for a young persons first rifle.
It will no doubt see more use over his lifetime than a harder recoiling cartridge.
Let him decide which of those he needs.

A .243 win is a perfect caliber for a young person. It has enough to kill deer or even black bear with low recoil so much that you could practically shoot it off your forehead,LOL I think you made a wise choice and later on if he wants more power just screw on a .308 or whatever and you now have a much heavier caliber for the job.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!

He will not be allowed to own a gun. Sorry.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

If he gets to own a firearm or not is up to US, it's shameful the amount of hunters or just gun owners who don't vote. However it looks like push may be coming to shove at this point and it can be settled now.

It will be settled. What the outcome will be is uncertain.

We need to keep saying (down boy, down boy,) and just let them choke on all this riot bs because they own it.
This time around we have the luxury of knowing who all the traitors are and have been.
We need more debates, not less, to remind them just who LBJ and sleepy Joe really were and what they stood for.
