Starting to map out where I want to do my shooting with my new .17 HMR. Miles and miles of BLM desert here.
So, to be absolutly safe, erring to the extreme towards safety, assuming I knew at what elevation the bullet would travel farthest, and I shoot it on a windless day at that angle, what is the farthest that that bullet could travel (which I assume is the point at which it contacts the ground, and beyond which there can be no danger from my weapion)?
Thanks.
Drop one from the height you expect to be shooting from. Doesn’t matter if fired or not. Time the fall. Multiply velocity by that fall time and that’s how far
