Model 11 magazine box change?

My 11 Long Range Hunter in .338 Federal has a 2-round magazine with floorplate. The magazine follower has an offset like a staggered feed box would have, but the magazine box pinches down at the top so it is a center-feed and holds only 2 rounds. Can I replace this box with a conventional, offset feed 4-round or thereabouts box, maybe from a .308? I will work up a laminated stock and could go to a blind magazine or keep the floorplate. The blind setup should give a stronger stock. Numrich is out of stock so where else can I look for a magazine box? Thanks.
