edge scope mounting

I purchased a redfield 3x9x40 revolution with quad rings, when went to mount them it seems the scope is too long, the bell starts where the last top hold down should go, the rear rings are righht against the rar of the scope, anyone else have this type of problem?

Sounds like you need a 1 piece base instead of a two.
