    accutrigger issue Sear?

I was at the range the other day banging steel at 600+ yards with my M111 and then it wouldn't fire. Trigger pulls but no click. I saw a piece of metal sticking out of the trigger guard area, so I unloaded and when home. I pulled the trigger and the trigger looks ok but maybe the "sear" broke off. I have some photos I could send but I can't figure out how to upload them here. Any takers? Thanks in advanced.

I use the app tapatalk, it lets you directly upload photos.
Are you able to tell if it cocks when you lift the bolt?

Maybe someone tried to time the trigger..............

Nope just me shooting haven’t touch the trigger since the gun was new and I adjusted the pull

    What’s the easiest fix?

No reason for it to break at that spot, I'm guessing a defective stamping. This is a pretty rare occurrence.
The easiest fix is a new sear.

Look for a used sear, not sure if 3 screw and AccuTrigger sears interchange. You may have to do some minor fitting to get the new sear over the block. I think Savage will tell you to send the rifle in or that they only do trigger business through a FFL.

Robinhood or Shaprshooter can tell you if sears interchange. Last time I was looking, Numrich had sears.

Fastest fix would probably be to put a "wanted" ad in the classifieds for a complete trigger assy from someone who's upgraded. You can upgrade to a target accutrigger at the same time if you want.
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.

Taking it in to a gunsmith, this doesn’t look like something a novice should mess with

    Thanks all

That is exactly why I recommended Sharpshooter or Robinhood! I know nothing....... and especially about the plastic bottom bolt release.

I believe the sear broke! Could be wrong though...but I’d bet on it. LOL..

Yeah, unfortunately the bottom bolt release sears aren’t available anywhere. Difficult even to find them used as ALL aftermarket triggers, save for the Jard, use the stock sear. Perhaps you might find someone here who has purchased the Jard. If you can locate one used we can easily walk you through replacement online. Otherwise, yes...smith time. Perhaps you can locate one who will be kind enough to use some KY.

Bill, You warm my heart brother but I have to be honest, I don't fit in the same sentence with sharpshooter when it comes to Savage knowledge and experience.

I would however contact Fred if i could not find the sear retail.

I can take mine apart and machine or cut one for you but It would take some time because of my work schedule.

I believe Jard has worked out the kinks. If Fred can't help, I would try the Jard. New sear is included.
