    Longer trigger guard screw?

Just got a B&C stock for my Savage 116 and went to put it together and the screw in the trigger guard doesn’t grab anything. Anyone know where I can find a longer one that still has the same head?

ACE hardware stores usually have a pretty good selection of hardware, in my area anyways. A big box store might as well.

I would use 1/4-28 so you don't jack your threads up permanently. To get the right length put the screw in the stock and hold it in place.

Make sure that you have at least a 1/4" sticking up into the inlet. This is for the rear action screw.

You mentioned rear trigger gaurd screw. Rear action screw is 1.479" from inner screw head. On B/C stocks I remember reading somewhere the rear trigger guard screw is not drilled and you will have to do that yourself.. Most hardware stores will have what you need..

I didn't see "rear trigger guard screw" in the OP. But you have proven the need for clarification because the factory rear TGS doesn't "grab on to" all aftermarket stocks.

I think I solved the issue. I filled in the existing hole in the stock with jbweld, let it set up, and then re-drilled it with a small bit just enough to get the factory screw started so it has something to grab. Worked good I think. Basically all that screws purpose is to hold the trigger guard in correct?
