Wink Older Savage 4.52" trigger tab

Have an older Savage 110 action that i came up with a "extra" part after taking apart to glass bed stock. It's a little tab that I have tried to take a picture of and not sure if it where exactly it goes. I put it back together with out it and every thing works fine except for the safety, if fires when safety is on. Thanks in advance for any help

There should be a small adjustable set scew near the rear of the trigger. It limits the trigger travel and when adjusted correctly will allow the safety to restrict trigger movement. This adjustment is very precise so it just takes a little bit for it to be out of adjustment. Take a look at it and see if you can figure it out. When moving a set screw always keep track of how much you turn it.

If you need more help let me know and we can figure it out.

The little "tab" you are talking about is a dust cover. It slips into the slot where the safety tab slides. The protrusion side goes"up", and the safety adjustment screw rides into the depression on the bottom. When this is installed correctly, the dust cover will slide with the safety.

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-man...110-parts-listOk, I found the part on gun pars corp, #53 (trigger pull adjusting screw cover). So does it slide in the action/trigger slot facing forward or back and "protrusion side" up or down?

I figured it out and with a few adjustments it is back to working perfectly ! Now to load some 6.5 x 308 and see how she shoots.
Thanks again for putting me on the right track.
