Hi,

Thought I'd join this forum of like minded Savage shooters from across the pond.

I've been shooting for nearly 30 years, but really want to extend the ranges I'm shooting at over the next year.

I've really loved Savage 12s since seeing one at a show about 10 years ago. Last year I was able to pick up a reasonably priced BVSS in 308.

Savage isn't massively popular over here, mostly due to Sako, Tikka prices compared to the Savage prices. Generally all US shooting stuff costs what it does in USD but in GBPs! So $1200 becomes £1200!

But looking forward to learning more, especially as mine is the older 4.25 action spacing and blind mag. So keen to hear what may be possible in terms of detachable mag conversions, stock options (subject to being able to get stuff over to/in the UK!) etc as well as reloading experiences (e.g how close to the lands do they like).
