Hi, I'm new here and have been creeping around for about a month. I recently purchased a Axis II Heavy Barrel in 22-250. I used to own a 22-250 and reloaded for it but that was many years ago. I am interested in anyone who has experience choreographing factory ammo from the 22" barrel from their 1:12 Barrels.
Many thanks from the Gadwall.

I chrono'd Remington 55gr Corelokts and Winchester 55gr Power Points. Both were in the 3600-3700 fps. Both had over 100 es #s.

So -200 fps for the Remington and -100 fps respectfully. It appears that I'm not loosing to much with the 22" barrel.
Thanks

So go buy some factory loads and chronograph them. Velocities will vary from barrel to barrel of a given length for a variety of reasons. Also remember that most published data is gathered from a 26" test barrel, whether it's factory loads or handload data from a manual.

Yes, thank you J Baker.
I realize that they may be different from what others have gotten in their guns. But they are usually within 50fps as long as the same barrel, rifling and same type of gun, and the limiting factor is factory ammo. Yes I could chronographed them but, I don't have access to a chronograph anymore. I was only attempting to glean information from those who have shot factory ammo from their 22-250 Axis with the 22' Barrel. I thought that other on this forum might share with me their insight/ velocity results. My old info I have is from 1976 when I used to live in California. Powders and loading have changed and I had a 26" barrel back then.
