recoil lug for 110 long action on duramaxx

newbie here, that is on my first go round for any build up ever so here goes. If I want to use a different recoil lug over the factory one do I have to have it machined(tapered)in order to drop it in a duramaxx stock and do I have to have some sort of pin placed through it to keep it in place with the receiver while I tighten the nut? Any recommendations on where to buy and which recoil lug to use?

Buy a machined recoil lug from Sharpshooter Supply or from Northland Shooters Supply. They both already have the "pin" in it so no need to worry about that, and cost around $28-30.

You wont need to taper it to fit it in a duramax either. In fact, if there was an issue you'd be better off to clearance the stock instead. Best bet would be to grind back on the recoil lug area of the stock and do a Lug Bedding job on it.
