It's a bright windy day here in the western Sierra Foothills, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I started shooting when I was 13, and was active until the early 70's. After a very long hiatus, I took up the hobby again in 2018, starting with Glock 17 for defense, and target shooting. Since then, I have obtained a Ruger Single Six, and my Savage Model 10 Trophy Hunter in .223 Rem. I am mainly a target shooter.

Career-wise, I managed the physics lab at our local community college, and later joined the fire service and attained the rank of fire chief at the same college. At the same time, I was an adjunct instructor teaching fire science/rescue and fire chemistry and physics.
My BA degree is in geophysics.
I retired in 2013.

I am a USAF veteran; served during the Viet Nam era as a jet aircraft mech.

Aside from shooting, I am a landscape photographer, and an acoustic guitar player.

This looks like a great forum, and I am happy to have found it. Have a great day, shoot straight, and be safe!
