    Stevens 301

I have a Stevens 301, 20 ga turkey model with the crazy, redundant side safety. I removed the small set screw coming in fm the top, pulled safety out, ground off the flattened part on inside end of safety, and reinstalled. Quick easy fix to insure that I won’t have a misfire while hunting. This gun has a transfer bar, so is still as safe as any single.

Yeah, the manual safety is a little redundant with the half-cock position and the transfer bar safety. That's the only thing I didn't like about the .410ga I reviewed when they first came out a couple years ago. Given it's an import, I'm guessing it was an existing design that was already in production. The old Rossi single-shot break actions had the same silly setup.
