    53 Year Old Large Shank

Guy on another web site is giving advice about Savage rifles...small shank vs. large shank...he says he has two Savage 110 flat backs that are 40 and 53 years old respectively and that they have large shanks...thought Large Shank came out in 2002.

If his actions are verified large shanks, my guess is someone opened them up at some point along the way. Savage didn't introduce the large shank size until after they started chambering for the WSM's and RUM's. All the older .375 H&H's, .458 Win Mag's and the like were all built on small shanks.
