I have tryed several different ways of bedding, the best is with Devcon. And use the stress fee method.
Are the system inletting screws that people use for bedding projects something that can be bought at a hardware store like Home Depot, or are those specific gunsmith tools? just planning on beddgin my savage 110 and trying to get everything beforehand
thanks!

Yep, got the Devcon plastic thing epoxy, and was planning on just using masking tape to secure the action to the stock. My question is where can I get the longer screws to guide the action into the stock, so it lines up without smearing the bedding material and it doesn't get into the screw holes. Will a hardware store have some?
Get some 2"or 3"- 1/4"x28 bolts and cut the heads off.
1/4-28 x3 or 4 in bolts ,cut the heads off
just got some 3" screws at Home Depot... the clerk was going crazy trying to find some, seems that the "fine" thread is not very common. Anyway, thanks for the help. Now to saw off the heads...
Yea, they are no too common in the big box hardware stores, I think I found mine laying on the floor, they surely did not have a bin for them.....
Curt
You need better quality hardware stores. Very common where I live whether it be Lowe's, Menards, Home Depot, Ace, John Deere, Case/International, NAPA, CarQuest, Reily's etc. Oh by the way there not screws but hex head bolts/cap screws dependant on what nonmenclature the manufacture hangs on there product. Screws are an entirely different type of fastner. Might be why the clerk couldn't readily find them.
i couldn't find them at HD or lowes, but found them at ACE.
They were at Home Depot, truly the first place I looked, but the guy couldnt find them... The ones I got were the only type of bolt besides the 1" long ones on just one tiny bin... Anyway I got them, so that's what count :D
