Welcome from Tucson. I also am an old retired guy. I shoot a lot at 3 Points range, Red Rock, and Marana Range all are within 30 min. of home.

AZ GUY: I'm an old retired Tucson guy also and a member of the Pima Pistol Club. I shoot 3 events there - Rimfire Challenge (Browning Buckmark/S&W M&P 15/22), Tactical Rifle (Savage A22) and Steel Challenge (Glock 17). I also shoot in the Prone Matches at Tucson Rifle club in 3 Points (Savage mark II BV) -- TRC is a long shag to that range (1 hour) from where I live in Saddlebrooke but you have to do what you have to do to shoot theses days.

I think I know where you're shooting in Marana but where are you shooting in Red Rock?

Pima Pistol Club does not allow steel on their public 100 yard range so I'm considering the range at Mammoth - about 1/2 hour drive for me.

Red Rock is a BLM area where there is a lot of open shooting with a hill behind including a dry lake where 600 yards can be shot. From your side head to Oracle Junction left toward Florance turn left on Park Link. At mile post 6 turn turn left just find your spot. Marana shooting club is 100 yards with several pistol bays. Steel is allowed anywhere. Just take Avra Valley Rd off I 10. Only open certain days. Look them up Marana Shooting. Just a few miles from you. They also have 3 gun and pistol comp. Wilson
