new SS 3006 Axis barrel rifling

I just got a brand new SS 3006 Axis, I just happened to look at the rifling ( I always do )and there are 3 distinct grooves cut through the rifling in the first 1/4 from muzzle ? looks like someone spun a drill bit or some type of tooling in there , I'm a big fan of axis Stevens and all things Savage in General, and I know Savages or known for corrugated pipe looking barrels , but I've never seen one like this , should I contact savage about it or just CHOOT IT ? thanks for looking

I would shoot it and see how it does. If it shoots well, keep it as is. If it shoots like crap, call Savage for help.
