Confused with Savage 110 Tactical in 308

I bought a new Savage 110 Tactical in 308 with AccuFit stock, and a 20" fluted barrel. I want to put a XLR or a Oryx chassis on it but............ I'm not sure what to buy. I always assumed Savage "110" was a Long Action and 308 was a Short Action? I read the 110 is both Short and Long action now, but I'm not quite understanding that. I understand the "assume" thing........... Can someone help me out?

Do I buy a Savage LA or SA for my rifle?

    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

That's too easy! Sometimes I kill me!

Any advice on XLR Element or Envy vs Oryx?

Your 110 .308 Tactical should be a short action. Best way to verify is to measure the action screw spacing. A short action will measure 4.4 inches approximately.

Savage changed the nomenclature recently. But not to worry, you'll soon get the hang of it.
