My buddy has a 110 in a 308 and wants to put it in an oryx chassis. It’s a long action system so he would need the long action chassis but what magazine would work if any.

I'm fairly certain that a receiver chambered in .308 is short action.

The 110 in .308 uses a long action, but the magazine port is for short action magazines, so basically that won't work at all in a chassis.

I hope that's not right......... I read that Savage is making both 110's in Long Action and Short Action. I just bought a 110 Tactical in 308 and it has a 4.400" bolt spacing. I to, had planned to put my rifle in a Oryx chassis. I'll call them to verify.
I just spoke with Savage technical support. The term "110" in Savage 110 Tactical does NOT define anything but the series of rifle. So, if you buy a 308 in 110 Tactical, a Short Action chassis will fit.
Unless you have an old 110 tactical made before 1998, which were all made on long actions.
