hello all, i have a 99f chambered in 308. the rifle is special to me, was one of my grandfathers rifles. what makes this one interesting is it has a retractable sling in the butt stock. i cannot find any information on this feature, so i figured id ask here. any ideas?

by god thats what it is! the butt stock on mine has been nicely cut out to fit the sling housing. the return spring broke so i silver soldered it back together, i need to have a new leather sling made as the one in it is dry rotted. i dont want to use it, just want to show it off. had the rifle reblued about 5 years ago and hasnt been shot since. pretty much a safe queen
Cool. I’ve seen one at auction in the past year, but I don’t recall the rifle. Quite a conversation piece.
