Savage 220b Hammerless

Will it hurt to leave Savage 220b hammerless cocked? If so how do u uncock when u can't ease down hammer?

I don’t have a 220b, so I can only speak in generalities. The hammer spring will eventually creep, and lead to light strikes. However, this might take a thousand years. I always load my hammerless shotguns with snap caps, and pull the trigger for storage. Or you could store it broken open.
