    3screw trigger years

I’ve tried searching but haven’t come up with anything definite. What years did they use the three screw trigger?

So all guns up to 2003 have a 3screw in them? I thought there were some that didn’t?

If your talking about the trigger assy’s that have a overtravel screw, sear engagement screw, a safety adjustment screw and then you have that screw that the spring goes into on the sided for weight of pull adjustment correct?

If so I’m going to say from 1966 to at least the late 70’s to early 80’s. I don’t know if it made it to late 80’s or into the 90’s before they started making them without the adjustment screws.

Well, yes I guess technically starting in '66....the old pre '66 triggers had 3 adjustments, but all of the screws were in the safety.
There were 7 versions of the 3 screw trigger, although cosmetically different, they were all mechanically the same. Some had 4 screws, with the last as a set screw to hold the pivot pin in place instead of an E clip. They didn't eliminate the sear engagement screw until around 2004 when the Stevens 200 came out.

Basically I have two rifles with the adjustable factory trigger in them. I’m looking at another one but don’t have the ability to remove the action from the stock and see what trigger is in it prior to the sale. Rifle was built in 93 per serial #.

So yes, the one I’m looking at has the same trigger as the other two and I can adjust it?

There was a very good article on adjusting a 3 screw factory trigger on Savage Shooter around June or July 2012. Perhaps Sharpshooter or JBaker could help you find it. I think it will answer your question.
