New user, barrell swap on Striker questions

How and what do you use to hold the action / bbl? I don't have a fancy bbl vice. Can I just buy some soft jaws and order a wrench from Midway and go to town. I think I can set the headspace I just don't want to ruin the action. I just bought a Striker pistol in .308 and it came with a .243 bbl. I was kind of wanting to play with it as well. Any pictures on the vice thing or maybe a link to another thread addressing this...Jim
