Hi.

I'm a Savage newbie from Massachusetts. I am finalizing the purchase of my first Savage, a 6.5 Creedmoor Stealth Evolution. I have some small experience, as I first started in the shooting sports in the DCM\CMP program about 30 years ago, although its a LOOONG time since a shot an M1 service rifle.

I am a former hunter and have shot .257 Roberts, .257 Ackley Improved (a TOTALLY underappreciated caliber IMHO), .30-06 and .25-06 for deer and .223 and .22-250 for varmints.

I am also past member of the IBS and NBRSA and shot 6mm PPC in Heavy Varmint, Light Varmint and Hunter Class for Score at Capital City, ME back in the "old" days.

I am also an avid reloader.

I was wondering if anyone in the community could steer me towards data on rifle break-in loads as well as decent fire forming loads.

I am thinking of getting into the PRS game, Seniors naturally.

I am starting out with Starline small rifle brass for cost reasons although I will probably try Lapua at some point.

I am considering CCI #450 Magnum Small Rifle, maybe CCI BR4's and\or Federal #205M match.

All cases will be "bench-rest" prepped.

Powders: H4350(natch!),RL16, RL17and Varget (if I can find some!) and maybe IMR4350.

Bullets: Hornady ELD and ELD-X(natch!), Berger, Lapua and maybe Sierra TMK and Matchkings.

Any advice is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks!
