Hello everyone! Just checking in for the first time. Yesterday I read a thread here about 340 scope mounts and thought this might be a great place to learn more about Savage firearms.
Several years ago I bought a used 340, 30-30 off a 'reject rack' at a local gun shop for a song. Took it to Colorado School of Trades and they turned it into a beautiful straight shooting rifle.
Next I found a very used Stevens 840 .22 and had the trade school fix it up too.
Both were built in the '60's and are solid firearms with blended form and function I think is missing from most of the newer models I see out there. The wood stocks refinish like nothing I have ever seen before.
Now I have an 'experienced' M93 .17 at the school now waiting to see how it turns out...should be done in January.

Anyway I have a good start at a 'rescued' Savage gun rack started and hope to add more as I find them.
