    torque settings

Any body know what the recommended torque settings should be on the stock assembly and trigger/magazine screws for the Mark 1 FVP (composit stock)

Start with 25# front and back. Work the front one to 40# if it tunes better there. If not back it back to 25#

I been driving myself crazy lately on what 17 to buy. i was gonna get the b17, but all the reading/research i been doing, i'm not sure savage is the way to go w/ a 17, as too many inconsistent stories. anyway, here is a link i had put in my favorites list on my laptop. post #17, talks about it some.

I've not seen any specifics on the Mark I, but from what I have seen, Savages tend to shoot best with the screws torqued in the 25 to 35 in/lbs range.

This article covers how Team Savage does it - https://www.accurateshooter.com/tech...torque-tuning/

Does the 25-35 in/lbs also apply to wood stocks or just composite ?

That's just a general number that I've heard tossed out over they years for Savage rifles in general.

A good place to start, and should be a safe number to avoid damage to a wood stock, but some like to go higher with testing.
